Clarice Randall Professor Green English 101 25 November 2014 Abortion Abortion is a very controversial topic in American. The question is about abortion is should it be legal or should it be illegal? Then the next question is when does life begin, at conception or after birth? While there are some people who are labelled as pro-choice that says that abortion is a woman choose and it should not be controlled by the government or a religious authority. On the other hand, there are some people who are labelled as pro-life that believe that life begins at conception and abortion is murder. Only abortion procedures that can be performed is surgical procedures which are Induction Abortion and Dilation Extraction. The ear lier the abortion is performed the cheaper the price will be for the procedures, but the later the abortion is performed the higher the price will be for the procedures. There are different side effects after a woman gets an abortion like cramping, spotting, diarrhea, and throwing up for as long as two to four weeks after getting an abortion procedure. However there is another type of abortion, but it is the unsafe abortion. Unsafe abortion is the same thing as a legal abortion, but it is done by a person who lack the skills to carry out an abortion. Around forty-two million women does get an abortion every year but about twenty of these forty-two million women gets an unsafe abortion. Around sixty-eight thousand women die because of the unsafe abortion. Some unsafe abortion methods are drinking toxic fluid, inflicting direct injury to the vagina, or placing something like a coat hanger into the vagina. Some health consequences that come from unsafe abortions is hemorrhage, internal organ injury, and infection; in addition, some of these health consequences can lead to death.
